T4B

This project was implemented under a contract with Damovo for the Ministry of Finance.

T4B, commissioned by Damovo Polska Sp. z o.o., developed and deployed a custom software application as part of the Customs Service Modernization Program. The communication system allows mobile teams in the field to access Customs Service databases online, significantly improving the efficiency of controls.

T4B provided mobile communication devices for mobile teams and installed mobile terminals in vehicles belonging to these units. The company also developed and installed access applications on mobile teams’ laptops, enabling them to connect to the current IT systems used by the Customs Service at border crossings.

The system allows direct communication between mobile teams and the Customs Service’s databases. Information from these databases, such as details on transportation, drivers, and passengers, will allow immediate identification of any past irregularities detected by the Customs Service. This will shorten control times and, if necessary, enable customs clearance outside border crossings.

The system also enables precise localization of mobile patrols, automatic reporting of mobile team operations with a detailed breakdown of control activities, and the generation of end-of-shift reports summarizing completed control tasks.

The delivered solutions also allow for expansion with a system for automatic license plate recognition during vehicle movement. A total of 170 vehicles from the Customs Service mobile teams were equipped with mobile communication terminals, with an additional 250 terminals to be installed nationwide in the second phase of the project. This initiative was funded under the “Customs Service Modernization Program 2009-2011.”

The project was completed between December 16, 2010, and April 29, 2011.
