The location and construction of this border crossing are intended to alleviate the burden on the three existing road border crossings in the Lubelskie Voivodeship (Dorohusk–Jagodzin, Zosin–Ustiług, Hrebenne–Rawa Ruska), where T4B also carried out works. The investment includes the installation of electrical and telecommunication systems at the new border crossing between Poland and Ukraine – commented Andrzej Witkowski, Director of the Electrical and Telecommunication Installations Division at T4B.
The Dołhobyczów–Uhrynów Road Border Crossing fills a gap in the border infrastructure along this section of the Polish-Ukrainian border, facilitating the movement of travelers and vehicles, while easing congestion at neighboring crossings, especially in Zosin, where traffic has exceeded capacity by twice the intended limits.
The new border crossing also had significant importance during the Euro 2012 football championships, managing the increased flow of people and vehicles crossing the Polish-Ukrainian border.
