Modern water resources management system for Polish Waters
Responding to the growing needs in hydrological monitoring and flood protection, T4B (leader of a consortium with Atrem S.A.) is delivering one of Poland’s largest projects to modernize hydrotechnical systems. Commissioned by State Water Holding “Polish Waters”, the project covers the modernization and deployment of modern measurement, control, and teletechnical systems across 131 hydrotechnical facilities within the jurisdictions of the Regional Water Management Boards (RZGW) in Kraków and Wrocław.
Intelligent infrastructure for safety and efficient management
The project is part of the Odra and Vistula Basin Flood Protection Project, whose main goal is to increase the country’s hydrotechnical resilience and improve safety for residents of flood-prone regions. Within this scope, T4B is responsible for:
Implementing and expanding automatic water-gauge stations,
Modernizing automatic control systems for discharge devices (weirs, barrages, dams),
Installing teletechnical systems and data transmission devices to support intrusion and theft protection monitoring.
“The technologies we apply enable not only ongoing monitoring of river conditions and infrastructure, but also real-time data transmission to operations centers—crucial for rapid response in emergencies,” emphasizes Jacek Kiryłowicz, Project Manager at T4B.
Advanced technologies for water management
The modern systems deployed by T4B include, among others:
Water-level sensors providing real-time change detection,
Telemetry systems for remote data reading and integration with central platforms,
GPS and geolocation systems for precise infrastructure oversight,
Advanced analysis of meteorological and hydrological data to support risk forecasting and operational planning.
These solutions not only enhance safety but also significantly increase operational efficiency and enable proactive flood-risk management.
Performance, prevention, and sustainability
The systems implemented by T4B also deliver major economic benefits by enabling:
Lower operating costs through remote supervision and automation,
Better planning and prevention via water-level forecasting and early action,
International applicability as proven solutions for countries exposed to extreme climate events.
Developing water-level monitoring and hydrotechnical infrastructure management is not only about safety; it’s also part of environmental responsibility and achieving sustainable-development goals. Projects like this—delivered with Polish Waters—fit the global trend of digital transformation in the water sector,”
Robert Szczepankowski, CEO of T4B
